Diwali was celebrated with great love and cheer at Yuvajyoti Centre, Jaripatka on 10th November. Fr. Anil, Fr Saju and Mrs Chaya Gurav were the special guests for the festival of light. The children at the centre organized the reading from the holy book of Bible and Bhagwat Gita. They also talked about the importance of light. Lighting of diyas and mild firecrackers (keeping in mind the pollution caused by the firecrackers) were also done under the supervision of ICID staff. Each child was involved in every activity of making the rangoli, painting the diyas and special dance performance. Special vegetarian food and Indian sweets were prepared for the children and all attending the event.
Diya’s were decorated by the children as a skill development and distributed at the nearby schools.
