National Girl Child Day 2024

The Indian Centre for Integrated Development (ICID) marked National Girl Child Day, ‘Beti Swapna Diwas,’ at St. Micheal School Hall, Sadar. Approximately 250 underprivileged girls from Gittikhadan, Pardi, Pilinadi, Hazaripahad participated in the event. Renowned boxer Ms. Alfiya Pathan, World Champion 2021, served as the Chief Guest, motivating the girls to combine hard work with studies for success in sports and beyond.

Ms. Kunda Raut, Vice President Jilla Parishad Nagpur, was the Guest of Honour, emphasizing courage to overcome obstacles. She praised ICID’s noble work for children and society. Mr. Atul Agarkar educated the children about cybercrimes, urging caution online. Fr. Sebastiraj Arul, Manager of St. Micheal School, delivered an inspirational message, highlighting the unique opportunity for girls to come together and reflect on themselves.

A dental camp led by Dr. Rakesh Dakaha stressed the importance of dental health. The day featured dances, traditional fancy dress, and an energetic start with Zumba. Nutritious meals were provided, and achievers were honoured, each participant receiving a gift kit. Fr. Adv. Praveen Monteiro, ICID Director, expressed gratitude to staff, well-wishers, and donors for the event’s success.
