International Women’s Day Celebration 2024

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Indian Centre for Integrated Development organized a day-long program called NARI SHAKTI MAHOSTAV for women from disadvantaged background. SFS College joined forces to enrich the programme. Input sessions were conducted on Stress Management by well-known counsellor Ms. Manisha Deshmukh, while a session on Domestic Violence was led by Adv. Megha Burange. The Chief Guest for the day was API Sharda Bhopade from Gittikhadan Police Station. In her message, she emphasized the need for all-round safety of women and children. Dr. Sanjay Sarwe, Principal of SFS College, stressed the importance of education, citing the examples of Savitribai Phule and Fatima Sheikh. Adv. Praveen Monteiro welcomed the guests and highlighted the organization’s work, particularly focusing on women, children, and adolescent girls. The women enjoyed cultural events, showcasing their talents through dances and skits. A medical camp was set up for all the participants, and sumptuous breakfast and meals were provided. ICID staff, Yuvajyothi members, Tirpude college social work volunteers and SFS college students and staff were present at the event, which was attended by 350 women.
